THE ARGORY VINTAGE VEHICLE RALLY - 30TH APRIL 2011

The Classic Rover Club (NI) attended The Argory Vintage Vehicle Rally.  This is the first time that we had our Rover SD1 at this show, although the Classic Rover Club (NI) has attended in previous years.
Members of the Club met at Sprucefield, Lisburn before travelling westward along the motorway and we joined the convoy at the Moira Road Roundabout and travelled to the Argory.

As in other years the Classic Rover Club (NI) stand was in the courtyard.   Once parked up, some members set about buffing and polishing their cars in the bright sunshine.  However with the long spell of dry weather that we've had and the gentle breeze it wasn't long before the cars were covered in a layer of dust.

The next 5 pictures are of cars on The Classic Rover Club (NI) stand.

After the grounds had filled up with other exhibits it was time for us to take a stroll around to view the other cars on display.  On our walkabout we found the following Rovers

The following pictures are of a some of the stunning vehicles that were on display.  Each and every one of them a credit to their owners.

After lunch I took a short stroll around a very small part of the vast gardens and here's some pictures showing the stunning grounds.

At 3pm exhibitors gathered in the courtyard to collect their finishers award.

All in all we had fantastic day out on a gloriously warm day in full sunshine with the some of the members of Classic Rover Club (NI) in a stunning location.

ABOUT THE ARGORY

The Argory is a National Trust Owner Property, located approximately four miles from Moy, Co Tyrone.  The Neo-classical Irish gentry house, built in the 1820s, has remained unchanged since 1900 is surrounded by approximately 320-acres of gardens.
The weather was superb, too good to justify being indoors, so on this occassion we did not take the tour of the house.  However, we do plan to take the tour at some stage in the near future.

Outside there scenic walks and courtyard.  In the courtyard you will find Lady Ada's tea room, (the scones come highly recommended) and a second-hand bookshop.  Also in the grounds there is an adventure playground for the children.
