This year was the 10th Anniversary of Bangor show; the blazing sunshine ensured a great turnout of exhibitors and spectators.
Five club members of the Classic Rover Club (NI) had their cars on display, and were joined by an Austin Metro and a MG ZT.
This was a show
with something for everyone; there was a wide range of exhibits including vintage
cars, classic cars, kit cars, and modern cars on display with a large display from
“Showerks”. There were a few lorries,
a selection of Military vehicles and a large display of motorbikes, including a
selection of Goldwings and a 1951 Velocette Mac. The sign on the Velocette Mac read:
“As
my mates were rounded up and taken away in petrol driven lorries to be melted
down as scrap, I was wheeled into a damp, dark shed 3 miles outside Dromore
where I
lay
for the next 44 years. It’s good to be
back!!!”

The food stalls along with the café and the climbing wall, fashion show, falconry demonstration and displays by UKFMX and Trialstar kept us all fed, watered and entertained throughout the day. The only thing missing was an ice cream van - it would have sold out by lunch time given the blazing sun and blistering heat!
The only incident of the day, occurred when I clumsily bumping into the rear bumper of one of our members cars, knocking off one of the over-riders. Fortunately, no one had their camera ready
to capture the look of horror and sheer panic on face as my husband struggled to refit it. He couldn't get it refitted and I had to confess to the owner, thankfully he wasn't furious with me.
After the show
a few of us finished the day off with a barbecue at
the home of one of our members the perfect end to a fantastic day!
